Entitlement Statements

Key Stage 3

Year 7 students are entitled to:

  1. A Careers introduction involving a visit to The Careers Centre.
  2. Review and target setting time allocated to each term.
  3. 5 dedicated 1 hour Careers activities on learning about learning/achievement and key skills.

Year 8 students are entitled to:

  1. A 1 hour tutorial on how to use Careers software.
  2. Review and target setting time allocated to each term.
  3. 8 dedicated 1 hour Careers activities using The Real Game.
  4. 1 dedicated Carrers lesson on Personal goals and Qualities.
  5. Access to a careers guidance professional.

Year 9 students are entitled to:

  1. A 1 hour Careers planning session on choosing options at Key Stage 4.
  2. Review and target setting time allocated to each term.
  3. A help your child choose their Key Stage 4 options open evening
  4. Extended registration time to help choose options.
  5. 6 dedicated Careers Lessons on Goal setting, action planning, presentation skills and decision making
  6. An interview with a careers guidance professional.

Key Stage 4

Year 10 students are entitled to:

  1. A session on how to choose a work experience placement.
  2. Review and target setting time allocated to each term.
  3. 5 sessions on preparing for work experience.
  4. A Health & Safety presentation.
  5. 5 days Work Experience.
  6. A meeting with a careers guidance professional.

Year 11 students are entitled to:

  1. A briefing on the choices available post 16.
  2. A post 16 parents and students evening.
  3. A meeting with a careers guidance professional.
  4. Menotoring from a senior member of staff.
  5. One internal or external visit/briefing from each of the post 16 choices.
  6. Review and target setting time allocated to each term.
  7. 12 dedicated Careers lessons covering all aspects of preparation for work.

Key Stage 5

Year 12 students are entitled to:

  1. Target setting every term - after term 1 based on tracking grades.
  2. Assembly on Career Entitlement - copy given to students.
  3. At least 5 x1 hour careers session - working towards their entitlement - Careers research, Progress cycle etc.
  4. University visits/open days.
  5. University speakers.
  6. Alternatives to HE talk - Gap Year, Apprenticeships.
  7. 'How to Help you child go to University' evening for students and parents.
  8. 5 days work experience

Year 13 students are entitled to:

  1. Target setting every term - term 1 based on AS results then tracking grades.
  2. Review of student entitlement.
  3. At least 5 x1 hour careers session - working towards their entitlement - Careers research, Progress cycle etc.
  4. UCAS applications and personal statements.
  5. CV writing for non Uni students.
  6. Finance talks.
  7. Results Day - Staff available to help with clearing etc.
