Trampolining Triumph... Gymnasts Jump to Victory!
Recently a select group of 16 students competed in the East Midlands Regional Trampolining competition in Hinckley. It was an early start, leaving at the crack of dawn from Sleaford at 6.30am! Nevertheless the students were excited and looking forward to the competition.
Upon arrival to the competition Miss Hall found her job as “warm up official” whilst Mrs Jones familiarised herself with handing out leotards. The first to compete were the boys. The boys pulled out some impressive routines, with some high difficulty..
Dan and Leo both gained podium positions in their category and qualified to the next round.
Up next were Year 11 intermediate girls who have worked since September on their routines. They gave it their all resulting in success of 2nd place as a team and therefore qualifying through to the next round. The afternoon session kicked off with the intermediate Year 7-9 girls and Novice Year 9-10 girls, all students performing excellent routines with the Novice team gaining top spot on the podium and qualifying through as 1st place.
Overall an extremely successful Sunday for the trampolinists at St George’s Academy. Well done for your performance and commitment, now for the hard work ready for the zonal round in London in January.
