National Schools Golf Finalist
Recently one of our Year 9 students, Michael qualified for the England Schools Golf team at the Kendleshire Golf Club in Bristol with two rounds of 73 leaving him on a total of 146. This left him in joint 5th position, which comfortably qualified him for the Home Internationals.
To get to the Nationals in Bristol he first had to qualify through the local Lincolnshire schools event at Stoke Rochford Golf Club. After shooting a round of 76 in very tough conditions he qualified as part of the top 10 Lincolnshire school golfers. This meant he was part of the Lincolnshire team at the Regional qualifiers. Michael shot rounds of 74 and 75 at Durham Golf Club which left him in 9th place and the best placed finisher for Lincolnshire. Once again the top 12 from the Northern region qualified for Nationals.
Therefore, he was the only Lincolnshire based player to qualify as part of the Northern team for the Nationals. The rest as they say is history!
