Armistice 100 Poets
Fifty-seven St George’s Academy students entered the Lincoln University Armistice 100 poetry competition. Submitted poems could take any format as long as the theme was Armistice. 19 of our poets were shortlisted, which meant they were invited to attend a performance poetry event at the University of Lincoln. One of our students Liberty received third prize in her age category and had the opportunity to meet judges Carol Ann Duffy and Imtiaz Dharker.
All shortlisted poems will be published in a collection called ‘Armistice 100’, which will include a foreword by Carol Ann Duffy.
Well done to Liberty, Olivia, Kim, Anya, Jack-Dean, Hermoine, Ellis, Declyn, Daniel, Jasmine, Maria, Harley, Olivia, Nancy, Keisha, Reegan, Ranya, Ella and Dakota.
