A Level History students from St George Academy made an educational visit to the site of the battle of East Stock, just outside Newark. The purpose of this was to enrich our History students’ learning experience, and develop their understanding by visiting a key local historic site linked to their in-depth study of the War of the Roses. Students were lead on a guided walk of the battlefield by local expert, Andrew Fen, as part of the Heritage Interpretation and Visitor Experience Services at St Mary Magdalene Church, Newark. The students found it incredibly informative and enjoyed a rare opportunity to have an outside lesson in the sun.
